Large Scale Central

First 2 out the paint shop

well after 8 month of slow progress, these are the first two, of six, out of the paint shop, ready for decals.

Can any one give me information on the, where and what data, other than road names, these would have on them? thanks in advance and regards Dave

They look really good Dave.

Talk to Bruce Chandler, he hangs out here all the time.

Dave, They do look very nice and sharp. Here’s one of the prototypes that I took last June.

Notice that there is NOT a lot of data needed. I had some decals made by Stan Cedarleaf. They ran on the East Broad Top Railroad & Coal Company up in Pennsylvania. They were built in the shops there; I don’t know of any other railroads that had anything like it. There were built between 1913 and 1920. Numbers include: 156-169, 180-184, and 950-959. Originally listed at 60,000 lb capacity, they were re-stenciled to 70,000 lb in 1930-31. The Jackson and Burke has 5 of them, 120-124.

Thanks Bruce,
I, too will be lettering for my own railroad, and Stan has already designed the decals I just needed some more information.

Man I love those cars, I’ve gotten 2 of the first run still in the mailer from Bob!

cale

Cale,
Just mark them up before assembly…you’ll basically have the 2nd run.

I’ve got a few unbuilt from both runs. I’ll use the second run parts to mark the first run  I was hoping to get sterted on these this summer, but my modeling budget dried up recently.

Anyone want to swap the styrene bits for some Aristo/Delton cars ???

They look great. Cant wait to see them with the decals

Wow, those look great. Glad to see others being built.

thanks, Bob,
I hope to have the rest out of the paint shop soon, just waiting on some more trucks (in the post), although i could paint them before I fit the Kaydee’s.
mmmmmmm maybe this week end if I can get into the shed for a while.
also thanks Bob for the effort in designing these and getting the kits out.
Regards
Dave
