It wasn’t the use of oil during any conflict with Germany or Islam.
The UK was saved during WWII by the intervention of the USA on the side of the Allies.
They charged for their services in providing the men and materials to pound Germany into submission via Lend Lease.
The Allies paid the price, the Allies won but destroyed the British Empire in the process.
Today the Islamists own most of the oil.
We want it to keep our profligate life style going.
Because of that, ultimately, Islam holds the whiphand.

I don’t think we need to chuck the politics. After all that’s what this forum was set up for. But I do agree with Vic on the use of racist names. We also need to be tolerant of other people’s viewpoints…even if we adamantly disagree with them. We have different backgrounds and circumstances and that will give us a different viewpoint on topics. There is plenty of room for both liberal and conservative viewpoints but there is no room for hatred and bigotry.
I agree with Vic on the fact that it’s our failed foreign policies and poor economic planning that’s created much of the situation (add to that our greed and materialism). Our attitudes towards other nations outside our allies has had much to do to bring this about also. We’ve been so quick to point fingers everywhere else but darn afraid to look honestly at our own selves in the mirror.
And our media has not been any help in the matters either. When they fill articles with words like terror, horror, panic etc., the terrorists have achieved their goal…They Win! When governments place security before civil rights and take away our freedoms in the name of security…the terrorists have won!
