Fire Tower complete

The Forest Service got their tower up for the spring fire season. The guys at the logging camp are very happy because now those fires can be spotted well in advance. The agreement was the forest service would build the tower but its up to the KMRR to build a fire car to fight the fires. Now the guys just need to keep their promise and get started on those fire cars before the fire season. The only thing the forest service is waiting on is the cabin to go along side the tower.

Wow, that’s nice. That a kit or from plans, or you scratch build it?

Thanks No plans used just built it from scratch.

Very cool! Nice build.

Great build Shawn, but the FAA expects to see a flashing red light at the peak to alert their mind numb pilots of that hazard. You have 1 week to comply

if you push a button with the old guy chase the keg like the ole’ Lionel…

Impressive tower.
Looks pretty tall in the photo. How many inches high?
Ralph

'sthat Ranger Gord up there?

Thannks everyone.

Ralph: the tower is 27 inches tall. The spruce trees next to the tower are 22 inches tall. The tower needed to be taller then the trees. Plus it sits on the highest point of the RR.

Tee hee hee …look out Shawn has a pinner!
Nice work!

Thanks Pin nailers are great and a must fror anyone building modles. Makes life so much easier no more clamps and waiting for glue to dry.

I have heard Ken B likes to pin nail himself to his work occasionally

Very cool and definitely unique Shawn.

Great Work Shawn.
I have seen many pictures of your railroad, but can’t put together your layout/trackplan in my apparently feeble mind. Do you have an overview?

Thanks Don. I will try to get an overview of the track plan. I have been trying to make a track plan up on computer but been too busy building things instead. Those in nailers are dangerouse to have. Ill see what I can do today.

The tower is holding up well in our 45+ mph winds last night and today. I used tent stakes to hold it down.

That’s what’s called “personalizing your models”. …

Don I took a few shots of my layout. I could not fit the whole layout in one shot so I took two, one of each side. Hope it helps I took these from my daughters bedroom window on the 2nd floor. She has the best view of the layout.

The fire tower really looks great. Nice shots of the layout. Now you need to stitch them together.

I agree with Bruce…your RR looks great
