Fire strikes the Blue Moon Saloon!

The empty shell of the Blue Moon has sat outside for some time now. (For a bit of history, you can visit: http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewtopic.php?id=16822 ) Today, it was struck by a fire. :o

Officials (there’s really officials in this town?) were mystified as to how an empty shell could burn at all, but close investigation showed that a lot of scrap wood pieces had been placed inside.

There is no fire department yet in town, so they were unable to save the scraps. All that remains is charred wood in the shell.

I bring my building in for the winter, a little less repair work later.

pAUL

Or,you know, clearcoat it and leave it as-is.

Oh no, my favorite watering hole is kaput…whatever will I do…

That was a big fire. I’m surprised the brick didn’t collapse in the heat

Great!!! more air pollution…

Hmm, upon further investigation it looks as if the fire was intentional. Perhaps the owner of the building was looking for insurance money. He better get a good lawyer…

Sad part about that building being destroyed is that it looked awesomely weathered for what could have been an old abandoned building on a streetscape. I hope they catch the punk that torched it and severely punish him for that!

Now it looks weathered!

It looks great as a burned out hulk. Just seal and secure the charred remains inside.

And what kind of glue will secure it?

Well that sucks doesn’t it ???

I'd use a wash of acrylic matte medium.

I will keep that in mind. I’m thinking about a “destroyed” dynamite factory for my layout.

Dude it’s the Blue Moon Saloon…slap a new roof on it with a new window and door and get the taps flowing again for the customers!

Good picture! Every year there are lots of examples in Missouri of Fireworks Factory explosions. Always makes the news. As for the "Blue Moon", it looks like the "Temperance Ladies" had the final word. Will the new business be known as the "Phoenix"?

That would be easy to model. A pile of stripwood and a lighter…

Looks like the payment book was stored in the same drawer as the insurance papers…that causes a spontaneous combustion…

Okay! Who’s willing to donate to the Bruce Chandler bail fund? Or maybe…we just send him a cake with a file in it?
