I had a visit from a neighbour yesterday and he saw the lamp in the garage I use for detailed stuff. Its one of those circular strip light things that surround a lens on an anglepoise. Like so.
Now mine has a flap that folds down over the lens when not in use, the one in the pic does n’t. My friend noticed the cover on this and said what a good idea it was. I agreed, “it keeps the dust off” I said. “Ah but more than that he said, there was a case of a lamp without a cover setting light to an easy chair from incoming sunlight.” Never occured to me as mine is in the garage. So now Summer’s coming, and if you are going to sit by a window with one of these, you might want to cover the lens when not in use. Cheers
