Fifty Shades of Grey

That got your attention, didn’t it?

While reseearching something else, I came across the albums of Martin Burwash, a rail historian and photographer here in the Pacific Northwest. Click on the link to go to his album site. http://martinburwash.rrpicturearchives.net/

My favorite album is “Riding the Helpers.” http://martinburwash.rrpicturearchives.net/archivethumbs.aspx?id=27202

My favorite photo of his is “A Real Granger,” primarily because of the composition, but also because many family reunions were held in that Grange Hall. Good memories.

But, but, but… one lousy B&W picture? I expected a whole slew of them.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif) (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

Steve, when I saw that hed and noticed who/where it was from, I thought it was about the weather in Washington.

I hope a simple thank you for the links will surfice. Nice pics Steve.

Martin is not only a great photographer, but a writer as well. His goal this year is to write weekly essays to accompany his photos. Last year it was to publish a picture a day!

His blog is here. http://ramblingwest.blogspot.com/

His flickr account is here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/22284553@N06/

Publisher for three books: Vis Major, Cascade Divison, and The Great Adventure. I’m a proud owner of the last, and would love to put my hands on a copy of Cascade Division, but the $300+ price tag makes it just a bit out of reach.

His daytime job is working at a Feed Mill to ‘support’ his farming addiction! He jsut gave a lecture about the Wellington Avalanche a few weeks back in the Seattle area.

Try not to waste too much time looking (and drooling) over the photos!
