Ken, Mik, Ralph and all the rest of you guys: Every one of you has enriched my experience of this site, and if you left, or shut down communications, it would detract from the experience around here. Please stick around, let bygones be bygones, and lets not start taking hastily-worded comments personally. It’s awfully easy to give and take offense in an e-mail, and usually no harm is intended by the writer; it just somehow comes out wrong or pushes someone’s button unintentionally.
If folks could just follow one simple rule: to edit posts to take take out that little word ‘you’ entirely - yes it is possible, and very worthwhile taking the trouble - then there’d be much less for people to take offense. “You” points fingers and makes people defensive. This is a common observation in live conversation as well. Ask me how I know this…
With a big winkysmileyface, (if I only knew how to add one) I challenge YOU to wipe the slate clean, shake hands just this once, and promise to try my suggestion.
End of sermon. Thank you, thank you very much.
