I thought I’d start this thread as a place for feature requests and to report minor problems. I’ll start with a Feature Request, or more accurately a modification of a current feature…

Photo Album Browse - Photo albums are a really nice feature and the Browse capability is great. It is a little frustrating to click on an album only to be told it’s Private and you can’t look. Would it be possible for the browse display to NOT show the cover photo of albums marked Private.

To be fair, I have not experimented with the Friend feature. It’s possible the albums I can’t open are marked for view by Friends only, Should we all be friends ?

I don’t know if I’ll write a blog, but if I ever do, it would be VERY nice to have a much bigger edit window. It’s a bit too small to get a feel for how the page will look.

Actually, that goes for the regular edit box. I’d like to have it as least as wide as the post will appear in the forum.

I’m thinking most people do not realize that setting their profile privacy settings to private locks everybody out of the photo album.

After all, what’s the point of having a photo album that no one can see.

What we need is a separate privacy setting for the photo albums, defaulting to “members”.

Albums have their own privacy settings. Perhaps if only the check box Show this album in search results defaulted to un-check it would keep private albums from displaying in the Browse list.

Ok,

So, how do we add photos to the "public " gallery. I see my photos in it, but my only album is “profile photos”.

Albums are where I’m currently concentrating on, as far as fixes go. If you find an album that’s marked private, let me know. I know some of them imported as private and they all (at this time) should be public.

Thanks Bob. I didn’t make a note of where I hit a private album. I’m pretty sure it was someone’s Profile Picture album. If I see one again I will let you know.

It looks like that user created that album himself, and has marked that album as “Me Only”. (meaning it wasnt a bug in importing things). I’ll see about NOT showing private albums in the browse albums section…

Her’s another low priority issue.

Seems that a link posted in the clear will open in a new tab in Firefox, but one using a URL tag opens in the current tab. Very odd.

When I go to Bart’s profile I get the message "This profile is private - only friends of this member may view it " - Only problem is that Bart is on my “Friends” list.

We spoke earlier about reactivating the Railroad news feature, but that seems to have fallen through the cracks, or perhaps shunted onto a siding and forgotten about.

Is there any chance of bumping it higher on the priority list?

If you are meaning the Railroad History, it’s there on the Home page in the lower right. Here is a link to it…
