Large Scale Central

Fc today, gon tomorrow

Nothing like a quicky…bash. I wanted a gondola for my RR, but couldn’t find anything that matched my other cars (Lehmann Toytrain, they are durable, look acceptable on R-1 curves, and, at least until EPL imploded, were cheap…) Found a pair of these ugly buggers on evilbay, supposed to be cattle cars. Figured I could always use another flatcar or two, so for the princely sum of $17 plus shipping they were mine.

I was about to toss the sides in the trash when a little light went on. A few snips with a sprue cutter and a little glue later I had this…

Some paint decals and weathering and danged if I didn’t have a gon!

Total build time, less waiting for the glue and paint to dry? About 30 minutes

Cool conversion! Lemonaid from lemons, I’ve been using crapper Sceintific cars for my el-cheepo conversions.

Nice…I believe “Cookie Monster” approves as well!
I love cookie monster!

I have no idea who made the cookie monster car. I found it at the Greenberg show in Monroeville, Pa about 8 years ago. A long time ago I trashed the original cheapy base and wheelsets and mounted it on a HLW flatcar. My daughters (7 and 15) both INSIST it has to stay on the layout.
