Narrow gauge steam in Africa 2010

Very nice video. Thanks for posting

Thanks for posting that Jon - What a great little video! And what a shame that it is not available as a DVD - an ideal gift at this time of year. If you spend some time on google Earth you can actually see the route of the train - the mountain sections make the Andes rail routes look like Nebraska…

Best for the upcming festivations!

Beautiful scenery and the sound of little engines working hard is great

Wow, that was cool! They should definitely make a dvd.

Remember a few years back when Eritrea started to rebuild their RRs after years of civil war - had to FIND a lot of the rails which had been used to fortify bunkers. Are rebuilding with as little outside money as possible. And doing a good job of it too.
Think Ry is narrow gauge? Thirty inch, metric equivalent of? gauge?

Quite impressed with video - well done.

Very nice video. That RR has it all: mountains, desert, sea coast, and in the dusty street running. Good to see steam earning a living.

Doc Tom

Cleaning bats out of tunnels, hand braking on the grades and villagers collecting the water overflow.
I’ve always wondered how those porthole windows open.
Good stuff.
