Someone talk me out of making all the buildings, please?
If he’s a glutton for punishment, my mine could use a 2nd fan house, and a pump house, and a changing house, and a mine office and a… hehehehe
Very ugly and industrial…
I LOVE IT!!!
Looking good. Take that same shape, enlarge it 2 or three times, make it glass and steel and you have an Art Deco head house !
Okay, I have a question… did these pull stale air up out of the mine? Or blow fresh air down into the mine?
Jason I belive they pull air out of the mine thought a shaft and freash air would enter thought the main shaft or a different shaft.
this style pulled air out. Other types blowed air in. I talked to several old miners. the general consensus was that you’d “freeze your a-- off when those things started up!”

Yep, you can get better circulation from a fan extracting air from one shaft, than to try and get into every nook and cranny of the mine by blowing air down into it.
looks great Bob.
More progress. Cut out a foam base, painted it black and covered it with coal dust. Have the pieces set in place on it for now, until I work out the interior details of the engine house.
looks great, Bob…
That is coming right along Bob. Nice !!
Added nice base choice
Thanks. I’m going to add some aluminum honeycomb underneath the foam for strength. The base will be mostly buried when its outside, so you shouldn’t see any edges or anything, and its a good base for display.
Nice!
I agree good choice for a base.
