Large Scale Central

Fall running

I got my backwoods stock out running. Had to clear the leaves and there was a lot on the layout. Still some there but I will let the wind take care of that. Engine is stopping for a load of wood. (need a person to sit on the bench inside.)

At the water tower

No more worries with the new cribbing in place

Gradual climb to the trestle The new and improved link and Pin couplers thanks to Vic

The S curve

Coming out of the tunnel

Going along the great wall

Finally backing into the mine

Still needs a lot more detail but getting there slowly. I need some figures to make the layout come a live and add some purpose. Still have alot of weathering to do on the rolling stock.

Looks great, Shawn!

Just curious, why are the logs needed inside the mine? :stuck_out_tongue:

For tunnel cribbing timbers. What else?

BIG Pilings!!!

Shawn,

Very nice! You might considering putting this in to the Articles section as a page. Great place to store the history of your railroad.

I have a tender but did not hook it up. Plus im waiting for my hartland big John. The truth the tower is where the local moon shiners hide their moon shine. I dont have skip cars yet for my mine so for show I used my log cars. Sure give me a hard time to the new poor guy. You guys are killing me LOL :-)

Youse is doing good for a “New Guy”…keep up the good work, and keep having fun…!!!

Fred and I agree; Shawn, you’ve done a great job getting up and running!..All is looking great!

Shawn,
Great pictures. Good to see you are having fun running the trains.
Ralph

Why Fred, its between the frames…don;t you recognize a Well Tank 0-4-0 when ya see one? 0-4-0WT technically speaking…

Good one, Bart…I was wondering if anyone would suggest that…although there were very few “Well Tanks” in North America; that loco is an example of what could be modelled as a well tank, due to the “Brick Drive”, which sort of fills in where the water tank would be, down under the boiler.

Shawn, your layout looks great! I like it, and I like the fact that everything is either scratch-built or modified in some way rather that “straight from the box”. That really makes it your own unique RR. Your photography is excellent too – sure wish I could get pics that good of my layout.

Looks great. The vegetation is filling in nicely.

I statred writing an article on my RR. Just have to go through all my photos. Its basicaly going to show my progress. When I get the bulk of it done I will advertise it. My goal is to show that you dont need a large RR to have fun. Also show that anything is possible even for someone who thinks they have no talent in building from scratch. Like me
