Beautiful! Thank you for the pics. I went back to Ontario, many years ago, after what was for me a long absence - duty got in the way of home visits, as it sometimes had to. The following day I got up and sat on the bench outside the house and looked at our old sugar maple and cried my eyes out with the sheer beauty of it all. I spent the rest of my time just driving around, looking at the trees and the colours they had turned. Folks don’t believe the million shades of fluorescent pink and orange that leaves can go… Fall is just one of the many good reasons why the GFO gives us eyes to see with, and a heart and soul to appreciate it all. tac www.ovgrs.org

Yeah it gets to be nippy in the morning

Fall would be my favorite season if it wasn’t for the leaf clean up and the impending winter. Here are a few fall shots from my backyard I took a couple of years ago -

The tweety birds were playing hockey on my goldfish pond yesterday morning.
1/4’ of ice cover.
22 degrees.

We haven’t seen any ice here in Ottawa yet…

Brain, I love fall and even more so that we now live out in the country away from the city park called Oak Hill Park. The city would wait until all the leaves were off the trees (which was after the leaf pickup service would come thru) to clean up the park. Living on the eastern side of the park we ended up raking all the cities leaves several times over and we had NO trees in our yard. Go figure! Now we have three trees on our property and only a handfull more near us that shed leaves. These shots are from two years ago and the first fall we were in the house. The trees are about the same or a little past this at this point. Of course it’s been dry enough they’ve been shedding leaves all summer. The crab apple is in pretty sad shape too and may have to come down soon?

This tree is the one in the back yard and is about the saem this year right now.

here you get a partial shot of our trees out front. The maple to the left and the crabapple to the right. The tree in full fall color is the neighbors.

This is the tree you could see the top off before. I’ll try to get some good shots this year too. Chas

My little pond froze yesterday morning. The poor dogs didn’t know what to do. They usually get their first morning drink out of it each day. :stuck_out_tongue: Our maples are a wonderful riot of color. The poplars are a more laid back blend of green and yellow. The various conifers have shed their dead needles, all over my track.

Life goes on.

But enough to support two full teams of tweety’s, plus the officials.

Not quite fall here. But, it was a beautiful day, so we headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Shenandoah Park. Not peak yet, but still pretty.

Who's winnin?..........;)
The Red Wings, of course

I think the Mighty Ducks just tied it up…

…with string, or rope…?

It was a 2 to 2 tie until the brawl broke out.
Then the fans (the cats) got involved, and when they went out on the ice, it broke and everyone ended up with the fishes.

Didn't they know not to mix it up with the Mob?
