Jim (Dr Rivet) has been running steam-ups for a long time. The standard gauge steam-up was last weekend, and this was our narrow gauge weekend.
Jerry Bohlander and I took a full carload to Jims. Here’s Jerry sorting something out on his Accucraft Forney (out of sight on the passing siding,) while my #12 and 9 full loads head past. Scott’s SP 4-6-0 is coming up behind. (The boxcar is a standard gauge 1:20.3 car running on 3’ gauge trucks, a regular practice on the E.B.T.)
The yard was filled with EBT hoppers. (composite photo, looking both ways.) 27 empties and 9 full loads!
Geoff Ringle had his EBT #12, which looks a bit similar to mine. (We were trying to arrange for my full loads to head one way, with his loco and Jims hoppers going the other, but it didn’t work out. Would have been a great photo op though.)
I had my EBT #7 C-19 with me to see what the new headlight looked like. (Answer: washed out in strong sunlight!) This pic shows the size of the event, with shade tents over the yards and seating.
This is the EBT’s Business Car, used by the President of the RR and often pulled for a dinner date by one of the older locos. Of course, he’s out on the observation platform keeping an eye on things.
Jon Kling had his coal fired K-28 along with the brass “San Juan” coaches. Here he is shoveling coal:
Good looking trai:
My EBT #12 blowing down in the steaming bay. Lots of oily puddles - just like the real thing.
And finally, Jerry’s Accucraft Bumble-Bee C-16 with his matching (!) coaches:
