Fall 2017 Photo Thread - Post your fall pics

Maybe the third time is the charm. I have started this post twice before, both times loosing it by an errant click that took my browser to a different page

From the Best Laid Plans dept: Late Sunday morning I decided to get the railroad in shape to be able to run some switching ops and take photos along the way. First I needed to mow the front lawn to bag the good amount of leaves that had already fallen. Then run the leaf blower through the entire layout to clear it of leaves, pine needles, Maple seeds and twigs. Once that was done I put together a MOW train powered by M-10 to carry my tools around. The MOW train made many stops to clear overgrown vegetation, redistribute ballast that had washed over the track and clean out all 6 switches on the Outdoor Div. to get them back to normal function. By the time this was complete (and the back yard mowed) I had covered every inch of the layout and was running out of daylight. Unfortunately a camera did not accompany the MOW train.

Not to be denied my early fall pictures; I rushed home from work today arriving by 5 and had a train built and out on the layout by 5:30. Even then I was beginning to loose light as the sun was getting low about to slip behind the mountain to my West. I did manage to snap nearly 100 shots at various spots around the layout. Many of them are in the round file, but the best are presented here for your enjoyment.

NICE !!

I personally like that one (However that is my opinion only and other opinions may vary)

This one is my favorite.

Is it Fall already? Why is the A/C runnin?..(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Ken, yes its fall. 2 large branches fell out of the tree in the upper reverse loop and bent the heck out of a section of track. So the P&CS is out of action for a while.

My pick !

Whoopie! It’s here! 3 days in a row the windows have been open ALL night! In fact it’s 9 am and the perpetual AC has been off since yesterday!

Me like;

Thanks - I kind of like those as well. So get out there and take some on your layout and post 'em up!

I have nothing of any interest to see yet, unless one likes construction debris and mess with stuff scattered everywhere. Great pictures Jon, so now get some other people to post pictures so I can steal get inspiration for later use.

Go ahead and post some pics of construction debris. Plop a flat or a gondola in the middle and load it up (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

it will have to wait until Monday, but I will get one or 2 and post them!

Great photos guys. Here are a few from a few days ago. I picked this Climax up for the cost of shipping.

That was a great deal! Gave it away because the headlight needed alignment?

Well the front coupler is also cocked to the left (I’m sure that must have been the reason). Did you notice the GIGANTIC Crest transmitter on the right of the loco! It’s HUGE! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

And we care about this because?

It’s train modeling in the fall pictures and “if you would like to add any that we can critique on” I’m sure LSC would all be glad to accept them openly and without ridicule ¿

The headlight is a tad flimsy. The only thing I had to do was replace the rear shaft. Eventually the couplers will come off and ill convert it to RC.

Haha its OK Rooster, its fake news.

Calm down “rooster”. Don’t get your feathers all ruffled. It was humor. Maybe you don’t understand humor among friends?

BTW, my railroad is in Florida, and it looks about the same all year!

Well not exactly photography but it is fall here in Maine. this is my Morning Star hauling the dairy car and a new (not yet finished) coach along the W&Q.
