Falk in 1:20 standard

A friend stopped by today with his 1:20 scale standard gauge Falk built in brass by MOLOCO.

They only built a few in standard gauge, most were done in narrow gauge (not true to prototype) but a pretty big seller. Anyway he has just finished painting, weathering, and detailing this little gem. Oh yea its on board battery and sound but track power, pretty amazing getting a speaker sound card and battery hidden in this.

A couple of pictures.

It’s pretty distracting seeing it sitting (more or less) on narrow gauge rails. But to show the fidelity to the prototype here is a picture of me engineering on the Falk a couple years ago at Fort Humboldt.

Great looking little model!

I didn’t know the original Falk was operational! That’s too cool!

That Falk would look realllllll nice on your layout!

Boy that would make a great live steamer;)

Ron they do make it in live steam. Wuhu makes it and cost around a grand give or take some. I have always loved this engine but for the price of the electric you can get the live steam version. Rick that looks great weathered. Much better then what it looks like new.

Wow Rick your friend did a nice job, it is hard to tell the model from the real deal.

Is the winch on the front for yarding logs?

It’s a very cool little locomotive.
