F40PH set for sell!

Err…not really Jason, thats only $150 for the engine, which had dual power blocks, and less than $90 each for 5 pasenger cars.

How much would the same set using an Aristo FA1 and 5 passenger cars go for? USA? MTH? I think it would be significantly more.

Anyway the seller got what he wanted for them.

Poor Mark didnt even get the chance to have a bidding war with me

Now that you broke it down like that.:open_mouth:

And here I am just looking for the body shell…

Gee Bob I almost feel guilty about mine…almost mind you

By the way, there’s a Santa Fe shell only up on Ebay now, just saw it

Yup… I’m watching it, but its by a 0-feedback seller, so I’m wary.

That could have the effect of keeping the price down. May be worth the chance if the price is low enough.

…somehow I’ve survived without ever using Ebay, and have found great prices …what am I doing wrong ?

Don’t ask :o

I have checked E-bay on many occasions but have never found anything that I would pay the the asking or bidding price to get. I don’t understand why the concept of a seller offering his wares to the higgest bidder as not being the fairest way for him to get the most money for what he is selling. I guess some individuals think we should get the government to regulate selling on E-Bay so everyone can get what they want at the price they want to pay and not what they have to pay. I am looking to buy a Bachman Climax to go with my Shay and Heisler but haven’t found one yet that I think is worth the money that was being asked for it. I guess I will have to increase my top dollar figure if I really want a Climax to fill out my three stall engine house. Until then one stall will remain empty. THAT IS WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT. LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT.

the arguement was why do people unrelated to a sale on ebay find it necessary to blast every forum about a particular sale.

as for the thought about governmental regulation - don’t be stupid

i hope every climax on ebay gets forumed to death and you never get one because the price will be ridiculous

have a nice day

A widget sells for whatever price it is worth, and not a penny less!

Well Mark, that sure is a nice attitude.

I’m actually glad people post these notices. I just picked up a discontinued Bachman Indy at what I consider a very fair price from eBay. I wouldn’t have known it was there if someone hadn’t posted it on another train forum.

I’m sorry you haven’t been able to steal what you need.

Exactly. There were two Indies listed by the same seller at the same time. Both sold for within $3 of each other. I think I got the better deal - I paid $3 more for NIB Vs a dusty shelf queen. There's still one left if anyone is looking.

Not quite true, I would rephrase that to: A widget will sell for whatever price some idiot is willing to pay for it.

Witness the $450 LGB Zillertal Beer Keg Car on weaselBay. Someone was willing to cough up some serious dough for a car that could be bought and shipped NIB for about $100.

Its “worth” was about $100, based on the retail selling price, that “worth” became irrelevant when egos got irrational and it became a pissing match between two bidders.

Vic, isn't that the same thing though?

It must be the cold weather. For a subject like this to hit three pages in no time must mean there is nothing else of interest to talk about. I guess I will just keep shopping around for a Climax in my price range until the weather warms up and I can go outside and work on the layout.

No, John, this is more like sitting around the pot bellied stove of yesteryear, with your cronies, discussin’ and cussin’ and spittin towards the spittoon. Jus’ ol’ friends jackin’ their jaws.

WOW! This is great

OK…OK…why not just change the original subject line to read, “F40PH set for sale” and get it over with…Who in heck wrote the original line…egads…
