From the BUYERS perspective the idea of an auction is to pay as LITTLE as it takes to win the bid,
I bought some “pottery barn” wooden railroad parts for $0.99 each, most sold on ebay for at least $13 some even more, before shipping…I was happy to sell and the buyer was happy to pay…wow what a concept!
the days of deals on Ebay seems to be over(unless you really spend your time understanding pricing and supply), your best bet for a good deal is to keep a close eye on the forum classifieds across the boards (pun intended).
I’m cheap, and watch ebay a lot, but for the most part never buy, because why pay over when I can scan the Big LS Online Train Retailers for a better deal? Of course I am reminded of the BMann Rtruck for $110 after shipping…it was a good deal from the “Favorite Spot” in TX…but that rarely happens! to me!
