Who needs to spend tons of money on exercise equipment?
Today a big rig delivered about 8 cords of wood to be cut and split.

Way to go Doug!
From 1983 to 1998 we heated the adobe in Ontario with a wood furnace. Not only is it great excercise - it can warm you three times, first doing the falling, then when you split and finally when you burn the stuff. If you have a good imagination you can christen each block for a different person you really don’t like and have another whack at it! I know … it is dangerously close to being a common threat to society!
BTW there are a few interesting looking pieces in that pile.
We heat with wood (mostly) in the winter. Leave the thermostat at 55 so the house doesnt freeze solid, and run the wood stove during the day, and stoke it for the night… clean it out in the morning of ash, then repeat…
We shut our heater off in 1983 and have used a wood stove since.

I use to use the wood stove as my primary heat source but now I use it on the coldest of days or for emergencies. Ever since my wife started with her vocal disfunction and my little ones asthma the dust the stove produces is not got for them. We have to limit the use these days. But my electric bill has beenzero since we got solar.
Knock on wood (no pun intended!) we have burned very little wood this winter because it’s been a warm one. Our high yesterday was 66. At 6:30 this morning it showed our low was 39 but it was already 53!
oh…so you are supposed to remove the ash…when does the guy come to remove it…I have 3 feet of it waiting…and it’s getting in the way of my exercise machine…
Bob may delete this and I wouldn’t him but does that mean you are making an ash our of yourself?
I gather, that you wouldn"t "Blame " him…well, I hope he doesn’t, as it adds spice to the thread…!!
Better than sawdust!
