Even with all the napping, enjoyed a hobby project today; tapering and staining dowels to be poles holding up trolley wire for G scale trolleys on an operating display shelf.
Stained with water and/or alcohol soluble Tamiya brand model paint dissolved in 91% isopropyl alcohol. I’d say they came out looking pretty good Poles were tapered with a block plane while sitting at kitchen table. (actually in June, but did some touch-up today)
Haven’t a clue what proportion of paint to alcohol is, added brown and a bit of black till it came out looking “right”. Haven’t a clue what the wood is either: just some dowels bought at hardware store a year or so ago. Some kind of neither hard nor soft density wood. Not balsa, but fairly light and stiff. Dowels were simply cut in half for 18in pole height.
