Large Scale Central

ER&I slug

Joe,

That’s what I wanted, but it kept replacing one pic with another. I gave up.

Thats really cool , great job !

Yes it is cool. Shame my railroad is such that it has a no double-heading rule on it. That looks like and interesting project to try.

Almost done. A little weathering and installation of the flashing LED’s are left to do.

Seems I can’t add more than one photo at a time.

That turned out VERY nice, John,

Is the wood covered with styrene, or just sanded to shape and painted? I’m assuming the doors are styrene as well?

Bruce,

I found an old LGB engine cowling in the junk box. It was almost an exact fit over the wood block.

But it was too short, so I decided to make 2 intake grills out of aluminum expanded metal to fill in the gap.

They came out a little too thick, but I had run out of thin styrene strips and wasn’t going to wait for more.

Gotta do what ya gotta do, I guess.

Now THAT just proves you are living right, John. Sure turned out nice.

Thank you, Bruce! You are one of my Gurus on this site.

Now I need another one to build an A-B-A .

…no sign of MU cables…

They are tucked inside, Padre. Waiting on the flashing LEDs to finish up the MU Cables.

You didn’t see them hanging out of the cow? Look closely.

good job john. what did you use for the deck?

Richard

Richard,

It’s Plastruct “G” scale diamond plate decking. One sheet wasn’t big enough to cover the deck. Luckily it came in a two pack.

The handrails are 3/32 brass rod, the posts are 3/32 brass tubing with a tiny brass eyebolt glued in them.

That turned out great!

Not bad, not bad atall…

John, That turned out just super…

Great job… 5 Thumbs up…

Smart…quite smart.

Wow! Awesome job. I’ll add two more thumbs up along with Stan’s 5 and call it 7 thumbs up.

-Kevin.

Fantastic! Great to see it all painted up and ready to roll. Please be sure to post some pictures of the engines in action on your railroad!

Ahhh…cabling and flashing LED’s …you admitted it!

Looks great John!

Short bench test vid to see if the lights and sound works. The units need some run time to smooth up.
