Been running the trains everyday, not working on anything new as the time is near to head north for the summer. Next weekend, the structures, vehicle, figures, rolling stock, etc will get packed away in the shed until fall. I store the electronics and locomotives inside the house with the A/C set around 84 just to keep the humidity down. Here is a montage of yesterday’s run.
I still think you should build a small loop on the ground at your summer place and run the Hartland Mack and mini series cars.
It’s tempting Shawn, LOL!
Many of the guys in AZ fold up their railroads and leave for the summer too. I don’t know how you all do it.
After retirement, I came from Delaware out to Utah for Feb and March. I brought with me one RS3, a bunch of cars, and enough track to make a little loop on my condo patio. I couldn’t go two months without trains.
OK, you guys are talkin’ me into bringing something to run if I can fit it in the van with all my computer, music instruments, and gig equipment that I have to bring north.
Maybe my wife will agree to pack less clothes, LOL! Sure that’ll happen!
Mike, Pack the engines with you, and then $15 UPS box will send you a whole lot of track and stuff.
Hope ya got plenty of winter clothes cause it’s still gets a bit chilly up here at nite.
I know how you Florida people are…under 70 degrees and ya’ll freeze to death…
Mike you sure have a nice setup in Florida why not bring a few up here?
For me a day without trains is like a day without sunshine.
I agree with others, grab some track and short small equipment and build a little setup this Summer. You could go point to point switching, mining all kinds of things to keep you sane while you are living your self imposed exile away from your trains.
Happy RRing
Ken, I have the coreplast cut and packed already for my mill build over the summer. May need to come see ya for some some help! It’s going to be 90s all week here, some cool mountain air will feel good, but I’ll have to be fully clothed for the first month, I’m sure!
Thanks guys, There may be a chance of a small loop for me this summer. Ya got me thinking!
Help is readily available, Mike. Ya got my c#, just call to make sure I’ll be around…
Mike where in PA. You are always welcome to come to North jersey and run…
Palmerton, near Jim Thorp, one exit north of Allentown.
The more I think about it, I wouldn’t be satisfied with a small engine and small loop. I would want my DCC, sound locos, large diameter curves, and… and…
See what this hobby does to you!
I don’t know Mike going cold turkey could damage your RR gene. I wouldn’t risk it.
I used to pack up the trains for the Winter and setup under the Christmas tree and for a few years it turned into a Valentines day tree, a St Patricks tree and an Easter tree. I didn’t want to give up my RR fix. Today I have a plow and rotary and a snow suit so I run year round now.
I prescribe a switching layout for you to keep you healthy and happy.
