Elton John & Billy Joel

Took two of my daughters, 18yrs. & 25yrs. to see Billy Joel and Elton John in Charlotte, NC last night.
Both of my daughters have a birthday in March, so dinner and the show were for their birthday celebration. I have a third daughter born in March, however her taste in music is a little different than her two older sisters.
What a fantastic show.
For nearly 3 1/2 hours we were able to escape the problems of the world and experience the joy of wonderful music.
They finished with “Piano Man”.

“Sing us a song, youre the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody
And you’ve got us feeling alright”

Well said…

Ralph,
Congrats on a great evening with your daughters. Also, congrats on putting things in perspective of what’s important and what’s rubbish.

Glad you had a good time, Ralph. They were in Philly not too long ago. My birthdays in July if ya wanna spring for another concert…

Ken, For you, I would make it a Jimmy Buffett show. If you haven’t been, you should. Ralph

Sir Elton and Chrissy Brinkley’s ex ? Glad you had a good time.

I dont want to know how much those tickets set you back… I stopped going to major concerts as they just got too darn expensive. $300 bucks apiece just for noseblead seats? Rolling Stones started that trend…I’ll stick to music DVDs…:frowning:

Cool Ralph., I can imagine that must have been quite a show. Marilyn wants to know what she need to do to go with you

I agree with Vic about pries. We haven’t been to many very shows since our college days. There have been a few recently that we did manage to splurge for, Santana and Yes at the Mohegan Sun casino were our two most recent.

We had the “cheap” seats, but the view was straight on.
Elton John is my 18 year old daughter’s favorite.
Making her day, made my day, and was money well spent.
And it was a lot cheaper than buying her a new car =)

Last show I went to was the Blues Brothers at the Seneca Allegany Casino and was a good show. That was about a year ago now? They have some good shows from time to time at decent prices for teh venue but I’m not into the country music so I skip most of them. Anyhting that requires a stadium ro arena is well out of my price range anymore. I’ve got a friend that routinely tries to get me to go to Cleveland for concerts. Ac/DC was teh last one he went to and was on a weeknight for almost $200 a seat!!! OUCH!

I saw Elton many years ago now in Buffalo and was well worth the price (I won a pair of tickets) and we had nose bleeds directly across from the stage. I’d do that again!

Saw Billy Joel a few years ago at Ann Arbor and again later at The Palace puts on a great show, don’t care for Elton John. Ticket prices though have gotten really out of hand.

“Daniel is leaving to night on a plane, I can see the red tial lights heading for Spaaay nnnnnn.” Oh Reg btw tail lights on a plane are white
