Electric City Steam-Up - Scranton, PA 2/18/12

These are some of the highlights from today’s visit to the Electric City Trolley Museum in Scanton, PA for the annual President’s Day Weekend Steam-Up. I didn’t get a lot of names, so if anyone cares to ID an operator or two please do so. First up, over on the Warrior Run track was Dave Funk’s home-brew snow plow…

An unknown op’s camel back…

On the storage track. A cab forward and a K4…

Shawn firing his new home-built steamer…

And Shawn’s Forney…

And I liked this shot of Shawn’s logging caboose…

And the Forney again…

Back over on the Aichen Back track, a coal fired K departs…

Then rounds the curve by the step-over…

I finally brought in my monopod so I could get some better shots on the Warrior Run track where the light was pretty low. This was a lucky shot of Geoff Ringle’s EBT #14

And his EBT steel boxcar…

And his EBT wood boxcar, flat and combine…

Back over on the small steam track I was admiring Tom’s (last name anyone?) well detailed and weathered 2 Cyl Shay…

And there was this unusual home-built running with him…

Finally, a long shot across the track of Tom’s Shay…

I ran my Shay on the small track a couple of times, but was too busy to take pictures. It was a great time and I enjoyed meeting a few folks for the first time, and seeing old friends again.

Thank’s for the pictures, Jon.
Looks like a fun event

Thanx Jon…I was headin home from FL yesterday…

Great shots Jon. It was a great day and nice seeing you and meeting new people. Did you run into that snow squal on your way home? We hit it all the way to my house.

Any time you take pictures of other peoples’ locomotives…PLEASE take a picture of the people mentioned…a good picture of them, not just arms and legs, or rear ends in a bent over position.
The “Tom” you mention is probably Tom Bowdler, from Rochester, but with no picture, who can be sure…I have never seen a good picture of this “Shawn” character…he is a regular poster on LSC, but when will someone show a good picture of him.
It’s great to see shots of locomotives, and rolling stock, but pictures of people help put faces on names, for some of us that might happen on them at a show, and not know them…passing them right by.

Thank you all, for all pictures…they are appreciated.

Fred, would you like an autographed portrait of Shawn?

This is Shawn V.

Which one? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice pics Jon. Thanks for sharing for those that didn’t make it.
Some may say the one in the back Steve

OMG…Shawn is maturing…before you know it he will be shaving!
