Dont forget to bring stuff you want to sell/trade/etc, too. I’ll have a bunch of my EBT steel boxcar kits, and a ton of other things.
Anyone into 7/8ths? I have a bunch of things Ill let go cheap.

Excuse a newbe question, but when and where is this brag and drag thing? I’m hoping to make it down for Friday (staying at a hotel about about a mile or so away from the Fairgrounds) and would like see the stuff you all bring down (or up). Dave
Hopefully Friar Fred Mills will allow me to offer this brief introduction for those who are new to this traditional get-together. For as far back as I can remember, Fred has been promoting get together parties at the ECLSTS. There were a couple of different names for the party depending on which night it was. The one I recall best s the Rodent Party, the central theme of which being a collection of stuffed rodents. The rodents have not made an appearance in a few years - who has them anyway? For the past few years, Fr. Fred has been unable to make the long trip South to York. In his absence some of us from LSC have tried to keep the tradition alive by having a drag-and-brag. The last one I remember was a few years ago at the infamous Holidome where Ric Golding managed to scrounge a conference room in the evening after the day user left and before the crew reset the room for the next day. I didn’t stay last year so I don’t know if a party was held, or not. Back in-the-day, as the youingins say, Fred or Ric would secure an extra room that was used for the party. This gets expensive and I’m not sure there will be a room this year, or we will scrounge, but the party can’t be stopped The “host” hotel is now the Holiday Inn Express, most being, to put it mildly, unhappy with the Holidome. Chances are good the party will be held at the HI Express, but I’m sure Fr. Fred will jump in before we get too close with details. Flash back to 2006 from Bob’s album…

I want to do the drag and brag soooo bad…however I cannot do it with out consuming “Holy Water” and driving 30 miles or even rotating a key in my ignition switch 30/10’ths of an inch with that in my system is not even thought about as far as I’m concerned!! Not to mention I have a RR still under snow that needs to be ready for that Sunday.
Great shots Jon!!!
Taken off the ECLSTS post:
At this time, it looks like Gord and I will be there. I have booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express, along with the board room for a "LSC Show and tell/Drag and Brag, on Friday aftertnoon/evening/night. The HI Express is charging $93.99 per night, if any rooms are available…book now if you think you may get there…if you can’t go, then you can cancel.
HI Express (717) 741-1000 140 Leader Road York PA.
Fr.Fred
If that helps everybody. Hope Fr. Fred doesn’t mind
I’m dragging me to the the show and the only question I have is when and where is breakfast going to be on Fri morning?..
So can I assume this is a Friday night affair or is it on Thursday night? Like I said I’ll be staying at another hotel but I’d like to make it so as to finally meet the crew in person. Also is it the HI Express on N George St just north of Market?
Dave

Ken,
At the diner on rte 30, just past Apple Chevrolet coming from your way, on the left. It has changed names this past year but still right next to the Olive garden. Pretty sure this is correct info but it is posted in the other ECLSTS post. I check and correct if I’m wr…wr…wro…wroooo…wrong
As posted by Jon
There’s only one “Official Restaurant” in York. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, it’s the Starlight Diner.
edited for Jons quote
Gentlemen, Since the diner changed hands this year and seems to have done so twice, I took the time to search for the new name and came across the following link. FWIW just a heads up on what to expect. The Astoria is about 1/2 mile from the fairgrounds on Market street but can only seat around (50 to 75) ? patrons.
Seems evident the Starlite, AKA Nautilus, AKA Lyndon doesn’t have very good reviews since changing hands, again. Damn shame. The Starlite was a damn good eating spot (if Andy liked it who am I to complain?)
Then again, most of those poor reviews were from last summer, so who knows.
This year will be about year 6 or 7 that I have been going to York… Have not eaten any other restaurant except for the Diner…
Does York have any other food institutions???
Thanks Dave, I knew the dates and just wanted to reconfirm which HI everyone was talking. I’m still wondering if the get together (drag & brag) is going Thursday,Friday or Saturday night?

I’m starting to feel left out here. Sucks that I can’t make it to York, for that matter I could not even make it to my own Clubs show in Feb… I’m thinking there is a plot against me.
