EBT switching

Here is a shot taken at Roger Cutter’s open house this past weekend. Sure is fun to get my models out in the light…

Hey, I recognize that boxcar…sort of!

Great shot, impossible to tell if its a model.

Beautiful shot - and great models.

Are you going to build a caboose?

Thanks Bob, yes it’s all your fault! Bruce, yes I plan to build 2 cabeese. I have been working with Rog Cutter to document the underside details of 27 & 28. We will be handing off the info to Rich Yoder who plans to offer a caboose kit. I’ve been pushing for a metal (brass) frame with wooden superstructure… just like the real one. Here is a shot of one of my EBT 170 box cars and 73 fishbelly flat. The EBT only built one composite boxcar and one fishbelly (which was the first steel car on the EBT, built in 1902).

Wow those are beautiful. If you didnt say they were models I would have thought it was real.

Geoff - Always great to see your stuff. That’s a really nice spot at Roger’s to take pictures. All you need is some rolling hills above the existing tree line

wonderful model work and pictures…

Great lookin models Geoff…!

here is the real thing…

That’s too cool. I remember talking with you about that - very nice model. I hope it will be in York come spring!

Your model was the inspiration.

I managed to squeeze in RCS, but the sound system will be a challenge. After talking with Clem, I may use an HO tsunami. The only place for the speaker is under the hood. I might unsolder the radiator and replace with mesh.

Hahahaha. I think the original M-3 was the real inspiration.

Where’s the motor? Do you have any pictures of the inside? I’d love to see how you put everything in there.

It’s built on a 1:20 Aristocraft unit. The one with a surrey roof & long running boards. The prototype was a 2 ft Maine railcar. I stripped the paint and de-soldered almost everything… then cut the frame and lengthened the wheelbase.
It needs to come apart again for the sound… that will be my chance for photos…

Very Nice Geoff!

Nice work Geoff. Great photos

Loverly!

Now I KNOW I’m a complete putz… I doubt I’ll ever have the patience to do that.

Looks great, all of 'em!

Later,

K

I know I don't have the patience to do that. Or the talent either ;) Thanks for sharing, Geoff. Ralph

Let’s see if we can embed this…

Guess not :frowning:

Any ideas on getting a set of those wheels for another project short of dropping the cash to get the whole unit from Aristo?
