Large Scale Central

EBT Shade Gap Depot

This one is Shade Gap, WEST VIRGINIA…

Sine it was either raining or too hot and humid to be outside…I made progress on the depot… Trim on the ends and the bay window and a roof were fabricated…looks like I misjudged a bit on the bay window…

It was had to look at with all the original printing but a can of grey primer fixed that…

So yesterday I painted…its a custom color based on a photo of a DM&IR cabin I rode on at the Mid Continent RR Museum…

Question is…do I want to go with the black windows and trim I orginally planned…or white windows and trim?

White, looks good so far, personally I would have left it ‘as is’ in the pic with the names all over it, has a certain ‘Romanus Eunt Domus’ appeal to it.

That thing is screaming Indian Red trim

And I see you bought one of those sample paint jars from Lowe’s. One of those things will put paint on a lot of buildings…

Umm no…

yes!

I think a nice bright purple for trim, would really set the yellow off…

What about red and purple? Spruce it up a bit.

The Board of Directors met last night and decreed the trim shall be white…

Noooooooooo!

White is for folk afraid of color!

Downing Straw on the body…Indian Red on the trim… with black or white tinted straw for accent on the lambs tongues and chamfers

A pressed pop can tin roof got fitted this weekend…

Nice!

Very nice.

The standing Seam metal roof is a nice touch. Are you going to paint it or leave it as a weathered galvanized metal?

Very nice, Bart. I did a standing seam roof in copper on my yard office.

Really like the way that roof comes out from the press. Nice work Bart
