EBT Robertsdale Layout Build Log

Randy do you have a Summerlands chuffer in the engine? If not put one in, it will sound nice especially when pulling some weight.

Hey Shawn, Nope, that is bone stock for the (long) moment. I think it has a pretty good sound as it is, but I have thought about adding a chuffer. The EBT Mikes were known for their soft stack talk anyway. We’ll see when I get to ding this engine. I want to give it a 1926 appearance (no white paint and add a coal dust coating) Then I want the burner, throttle, Johnson bar and water pump R/C’d. Unfortunately for this project I’ve promised myself that I’ll finish my Ruby bash before I work on the #12. I am however back to working on the “Ruby” ! Edit to say: The Ruby will most likely get a chuffer.

Randy,

As you have noted, the current sound with the original Accu chuff pipe is much more like the actual EBT mikes. Mine has a chuffer to cut down on the spray of oil and water, but I set it low in the stack so it no long sounds like a ‘chuffed’ loco. The “adjustable” (maybe Jason calls it ‘universal’) fits on the original pipe and lets you decide where to place it.

Just thought I’d add this link for a bit of closure on this thread. Here is the story of the end the Robertsdale Layout in its Pittsburgh location.

I’m currently surveying the new property and getting set to begin new construction later this year.

Great news!

When you start your new thread please include before pics of the area!

Randy, I like Yuengling and whatever dead thing you want to grill.
