EBT 3-bay hopper

Howdy folks
With the initial CAD work just about done, and a test build that I’d deem “successful”, its time for me to ask the big question. Will it sell?

So, I’m asking who is interested, and for how many? Looks like target price for the acrylic parts will be around $25 again. I’m not asking for commitment to ordering, just a rough idea of what Id be looking at for numbers.

I would take two. Who makes EBT decals in LS?

At least two, Bob. Could be up to four total. I’ve got to see how many I need for a given ops session. JJ, you can get decals from Stan Cedarleaf: http://gold.mylargescale.com/StanCedarleaf/WebPageDecals/CustomDecalsx.html He did these EBT decals for me for Bob’s last project

Thanks Bruce. I have enjoyed your articles and your website, very nice work.

I’m in fer 4…

I’ll commit to 2, possibly 4.

I’m interested as well, Put me down for 4 at this stage.
regards
Dave

I’m thinking about 2 for the moment.

2 for now

I would look into getting two any pics yet of these bad boys.

Don’t know when I’ll build them, but I’d probably go for at least 2.

Jon

Here’s two pics. First one is of the parts laid out

Second one is a rough test-build to see if things fit together correctly.

You can see its longer than the Bachmann 2 bay (longer by a bay length, whoda thunk it?). I need to find my 1:20 ruler and make sure the CAD is accurate, and then I’ll add the styrene parts on one side so you all can get a feel for how it’ll end up.

Bob, if you haven’t finalized the drawings yet, on the brake end of the car, there’s an arch cut in vertical car end sheet on the left side (as you’re facing it) that the brake cylinder goes through. Bachmann got that wrong on their car. (Bachmann got much of the brake lines wrong–I wouldn’t trust them to plumb an outhouse.) If you have Tim Mulina’s Quick Pic book, there are photos in there. If not, and you’re interested, I can send you some.

Later,

K

Ah, good find, I KNEW that, but for some reason didnt do them on the drawing. Tim’s book is great, it REALLY helped me on the boxcar, and I keep finding stuff for the hopper, too.
