EBT 170

Remember those EBT steel boxes inspired by Mr. McCown…. Here are several versions of the one and only wood-on-steel frame EBT box.

Originally, as built, she was numbered 954.

Later in life, a more weathered 170.

Nice looking model, Geoff! Any details on the construction? Love that padlock!

Thanks Bruce. I just can’t figure out why the photos will not show. BTW all the other photos in my freight shed seem to be gone…………?

Geoff, Bob had a hacker who deleted the files a few months ago.

As for the photo that won’t show, try renaming the jpeg something simple, with no spaces or unusual symbols.
The reload the jpeg.

It’s the space between rog and 170. And the space between the numbers and medium. Chuck the () as well.

Ralph has it right. No spaces, no special characters like ().

Maybe it’s time to do more projects so you can do new pictures?

Thanks Ralph.

Wow! Very nice. The weathering is great! Of course, now you need a third version with it restored as she is today.

Later,

K

Very nice Geoff. Yes, it’s the spaces in the file name that prevent them from showing,

EDIT - OK, you fixed it while I was typing

Great looking cars, nice work…

Wow!–Beautifully done. It’s odd, but one of the things I noticed first was the wheels. They look really accurate–did you turn those down?

Well, the trucks are From Rich Yoder Models, the same ones that he uses under his beautiful brass hopper cars. After weathering I zip the treads on what we call a "green wheel", a really dense 6 in. D. Scotchbrite wheel that is mounted on a buffer.

Dayum those are nice

Me too Mike and we got our answer.... I'm not into that era but excellent modeling Geoff! I love the weathering as well.

Yes, Yoder’s trucks are spot on, including the very wide wheel treads. This was the first dead on shot of the real thing that I could find.
