I have never used EBay, and never will…

Strikes never seem to work. The big fuel strikes obviously didn’t bring the gas prices down. The people who do strike just make up for it at a later date by purchasing what they would have during the strike. Then there are those who don’t care altogether.
Personally, i hope alot of people do strike, then i can get some stuff cheaper.

Never say never fred lol

Terry, fuel strikes don't work becasue the oil companies know that if there's a strike on monday, tuesday everyone that "Striked" fill up their tanks. In order for a fuel "strike" to work you 1 Need to not fill up and 2 NOT USE YOUR CAR!!

Nope. In fact, I have just posted some more items for sale on ebay!

What’s the strike about? Is somebody unhappy?

They changed the rules, increased fees (again), and hamstrung the feedback system in favor of buyers, instead of having it be equal between buyers and sellers. Power sellers are unhappy, and everyone else is just bitching to bitch.

I ain’t bitching.

I don’t do E Bay.

At all, at all!!!

Never understood the feedback thing. You buy something, you get it at a price you are willing to pay, maybe say thank you, but why heap praise on the person? Good grief he could be some pervert dealing in kiddy porn, besides trains. I don’t go out and broadcast how great the last hamburger I got was, so what’s the point? Anyway, why would I believe something somebody said about somebody else, if I didn’t know them? Just my thoughts, you certainly can have different view points.

The feedback doesn't have anything to do with passing judgement on the person's character or lifestyle. It is merely a way to find out whether the individual has a record of holding up their end of the bargain in an ebay transaction. If a seller or buyer rips you off, you can warn others. Online transactions involve an element of risk, and this system helps to reduce the risk. You can limit your transactions to invidivuals with good, or predominantly good, feedback.

To ebay or not to ebay that is the question!!! Its like life sometimes your up way up and sometimes your down way down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYokLWfqbaU&feature=related
YouTube - “Ebay” by Weird Al Yankovic check out this link guys youll laugh your — off!!!

The video pretty well sums up the whole issue don’t you think???

While I agree that sums it up for a lot of people, I don’t feel it applies to my buying on Ebay. There I can find what I’m looking for with minimum hassle. Shopping in Spokane sucks to say the least. I can either spend $20 on gas running all over town and waste 3-4 hours or I can go to Ebay or another mail order house, spend 20 minutes, no gas and have what I want in a couple days…for less than what I would pay if it were available here. That really saves on the stress factor too. I’ve been lucky with Ebay as I’ve never been burned. Got what I needed/wanted in a reasonable time in the condition I expected it in. I wish I could say that for the retailers here in this town…but can’t.

right warren you know where im at right now i had an item there didnt sell this week darn!!!

I love ebay. It has allowed me to buy and sell and try dozens of locos and cars. But I am going on strike. The fees are absolutley ridiculous! They are bad now, but when they increase, they will get ten times worse and take out all honesty by screwing up the feedback system. Ebay is a great concept, but we need to let them know that this is unacceptable.

I agree 100% and am honoring the strike.

I’ll probably honor the strike too…only because I didn’t plan on buying or selling anything there any how.

Power to the People!

I’m much more unhappy with the new format than the fee changes. I use to make several trips a year to search for antique toys and trains, now every day is a free worldwide toy show.

If I am correct the new system hits sellers really bad. So the point is for the sellers to strike. If there is nothing I wont then I don’t use Ebay.
There are other sites like Ebay so take your item and sell it on the other site. After all it is a free world. You don’t have to sell on that site any more then I need to buy from it. You sell there because you know people are there to buy. if everyone starts to sell at a new site the buyers will follow.
Just my 2 cents worth.
