Very nicely done. I like it a lot.

Yeah tis conversation came up when I first hit LSC. What other scales scaled out in G. And N was the unanimous favorite for a ride on if I remember right. So this is a very cool diorama and would be a fun addition to a layout.

I’ve toyed with the idea of doing something like that but had second thoughts about doing it outdoors.

Wow, someone actually did it.

I would think this could be done outdoors. Whats N track made of brass or nickle silver. Ties might be an issue when it comes to UV but a clear UV protectant should help with that and it will be small so that means it could be covered when not in use. All the rest could be brought indoors. I really would only worry about the ties in the outdoor environment.

A club member of the GGRRC had an N-scale oval on a club module that was a playground area and was a ride-on train for the scale kids… It was part of the Club modules for many years…

I think the idea of this is its a module you set out on operating days and take in when it over, I like it just as its own little Micro, if I could afford it I’d bid.

The Mason Dixon modular club used to set up at the B&O RR Museum at Xmas, and they had a module with a large z-scale garden railroad next to the house. I posted a picture last time we discussed this (5 years ago?)

And a Japanese manufacturer came out with “T” scale - smaller than Z at 1:450 (!) You can still buy them at tgauge.com. The manufacturer had a Ride-On set of a diesel and several cars suitable for a fairground train - at 1:48.
Incidenetally, T-scale is 1:22.45 if you are modelling in F scale (1:20.3.) So you could make a real garden railroad model in your garden railroad.
