I’m not a hebrew. I’m not a Roman, I’m Freddy, a Branch Railroadian. I’m retired and don’t get holidays any longer.
I decided a long while ago that this holiday we call Easter, is actually just another day, and should be treated as such. Those that want to make it a religious holiday of some sort are welcome to use whatever formula to put it on any day they like.
I’ll stick to the old days that I remember. It always seemed that on Easter weekend, no-matter what days of the month they were; were the days my loving Father got my tricycle and wagon out for the first time after winter. The ice on the streets was melting, and the sun was shining. All was well.
I just treat the day that the big melt takes place, as a day of rejuvination; a day that seems to say, “Spring is here”…a day that makes one feel young again; a day to greet your friends and neighbours with a new “Great feeling” of comradery, and care; a day to get out and search for the first buds of Spring. A day for “New love”…the day I might finally meet the long sought-after, “Lock Master’s beautiful Daughter”.
I hope everyone gets to enjoy a day or two like this , and very soon.
With the latest “Dump” that we have received; I think for me it will be a long while, before it happens around here…!!!
