Spent all of last week - drove back on Monday - at the Canadian XC Ski Nationals which were held at the new 2010 Olympic site in Callaghan Valley. Talk about interesting weather!
I suggested to the people in the race office that we could have a combined race on Sunday (Easter) featuring long distance and an egg hunt. I should have kept quiet, Sunday morning we had about a foot of fresh snow to cope with. Delayed the start by thirty minutes on account of the extra prep of the complete venue. And the snow was v-e-r-y variable - a real challenge for the racers. In places slow enough that one could have been looking for Easter eggs.
Of course my mega cold/flu was back in full force all of this week - what counted was making it through race week 
- but I’m on the mend now.
