Some more rock work this morning around the arches. Widening the right-of-way, to allow for some soil for plants. And getting a tighter fit between the rocks.
Looking good, Bob. Lots of work, especially by yourself.
Nice looking rock work. Layout keepes getting nicer.

Thanks guys. Steve: yea, being myself, I have big plans, but only one of me to go around!

A bit more stone/fill work on the approach.

And some ballast work.

Starting around the corner, through the cut approacing the Pearce Branch.
Love dem rocks! May have to “borrow” that idea.
Bob, what’s the ‘purple stuff’ in the background?
For these small right-of-way-in-a-planter things, Ive been finding the “good” face of some fairly flat rocks, and mortaring them together into a big wall. Gives it more of a vertical appearance than just dry stack. The purple stuff? Its, er, a plant. It’s some kind of flowering thyme. Here’s a closeup of it. The honeybees LOVE it.

And the faux girder bridge. I’ll be making fake bridge ties and walkways for it.

Nice! I’m starting to think that getting the roadbed and track down was the easy part.

Added faux bridge ties and safety boards. Guard rails half-spiked, then the thunderstorms drove me inside. Will finish spiking the guard rails, and add walkway and center boards to finish.

Fred would be happy, you got them guard rails in place…
The flowers look like creeping thyme to me.
Yes…I’m impressed…!!
