Large Scale Central

East Coast LS show

Anyone know how quickly the engines and boxcars usually sell out??
are there some left on the 2nd day or should you bee there fisrts day at the opening?

There’s plenty for all…you can sometimes find a deal on the last day cause they don;t wanna put a display model back in a box and haul it home…and if they’ve had a good weekend…they my be feelin generous…

If you see a deal, DONT wait until later to get it. Last year 45 tonners were going for fire sale prices, and I said “Next time through Ill get a couple” but they were sold out!

Of course, I got all the AMS track from one dealer…so it all evens out

thanks guys, i’m holding u to that, if i dont get one bob owes me a free hopper!!!

It depends on what the offer is. Last year they sold out of some items in the middle of the second day. I think they filled orders after the show though - but you had to pay shipping.

the aristo u boat in PENN black is going for $150 and boxcar $40

Ken promised to chain me to a chair in the layout room so I can avoid these pitfalls…

[chant] No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - No more 1:29 - /chant]

I hope that sunk in to my feeble brain, but I doubt it.

But Jon, if you buy two, then you have different road numbers… Hehehehe

I can still bring a chain, Jon…

Did that last year :(

Thanks Ken -

Actually - It should be pretty easy. I have the will-power not to put toys on a credit card and I’ll only bring cash that I want to leave in the vendor hall. My problem is I so often buy on emotion, not on need. I have a boat load of 1:29 locomotives, but very few pieces of 1:29 rolling stock, so a couple of boxcars might come home with me. I think I’m going to sell all my 1:22 stuff and lots of the 1:24 as I start to move to 1:20. I desperately need 1:20 rolling stock but until I sell a bunch of stuff I can’t justify spending much.

Keep that chain handy, just in case

sounds like jon should email me what 1:29 stuff he wants to get rid of!!

Didn’t say I was dumping any 1:29, just trying to keep from buying more. 1:22 and 1:24 is a different story.

Do you think that the company whose name cannot be mentioned will be there?

They haven’t been before (in recent years anyway).

They’re at the Southeast Large Scale Train Show this weekend so…
