Looking at the group picture at the beginning of the post begs the question “who knows tv personality Mike Holmes , on the far left. And did he “Make it Right ??

That’s Ralph Berg AKA MisterB on here. He hasn’t been active in model railroading for a long time, but I keep in touch via Facebook. He recently moved to Pittsburgh,

Today while on the work train, we passed the recently placed back in service coal dock. This is the first time I’ve seen it with coal in the bins…

Going to add if I may as I like the comparison pics.

These were taken October 10th 2020.

The lady I was dating at the time standing by the switch stand wondering where the hell is he…Hollywood told her he does that crap from time to time, he may disappear but he will be back and tell you where he was.

Trains Magazine reported that the EBTF Board approved the $2M purchase of the Mount Union property, exercising their right of first refusal set up by the Kovalchiks. So once the dust clears from that, EBTF will own the whole kit and caboodle. (kaboodle?)

Jerry (@Naptowneng) and I visited for the FEBT Reunion a few years ago. At that point the main line through the yard had been rehabilitated so they could store std gauge freight cars for NS.

However, the rehab only included the 2 outer rails. Over most of the track, the EBT 3’ rail was just lying in middle.

There are still a number of hurdles to clear before the sale can close. EBTPA has some outstanding legal issues with the federal government. That is what killed the 2020 deal for $1M that included #6 (now gone) and the parcel of land that the local delivery trestle was on. That property was sold off. Most of that trestle was lost to the expansion of Ace hardware.

Then there is the situation with the Juniata and Augwick. They have done lots of clearing and track work in Mt. Union. They purchased a switcher and brought in several standard gauge cars. It’s not publicly known if J&A has a lease from the EBTPA, or they were just operating on the assumption that their sale would go through.

Locally here in Rockhill, the Trolley Museums board was voted out by membership in favor of a board willing to negotiate a new lease with EBTF. That resulted in the exodus of several active long term RTM members who would have left Rockhill with the collection rather than accept new lease terms offered by the railroad. Obviously, the voting membership did not agree.

It was a nice crisp morning Saturday as the FEBT volunteers gathered for another work weekend. 16 was being readied at the turntable. Just before they back out, they fully open the cylinder cocks to warm the cylinders and made a great steam cloud…

Yesterday was the last day of the regular operating season at the EBT. There will be Christmas trains in December, but nothing before Thanksgiving. I decided to take a few shots of the last train returning late Saturday afternoon. We are just past peak color here. On this first pic, if you look close just above the yellow house, you can see the steam escaping from the dynamo and safety and coal smoke above the tree…

I couldn’t decide which ones not to post, so here are all of them…

Everything will be brown the next time a steam train passes by.
