It figures, Bachmann would release a C-19 right as I’m putting the finishing touches on a scratchbuilt version. The chassis comes from Barry’s Big Trains; a custom job I had him build for me. The rest of the were either built from scratch or rescued from my srap box. (See my blog or my thread over on MLS for a full account of its construction.)
EBT #7 was built to the same drawings as the D&RGW’s C-19 locos. The primary difference was that the EBT loco never had air brakes. It used Eames vacuum brakes on the EBT and also on the Ohio River & Western, which purchaed the loco in 1913.
The tender was completely scratchbuilt. It’s a shame Micro-Mark no longer sells their rivet embossing tool, but Northwest Short Line has the same thing (likely a higher build quality, but it’s also more expensive). Those rivets would not have been possible without it. And yes, I did goof along the bottom edge, hence the patch.
The plumbing in the cab is conjectural, but sufficient to look like everything’s there from the outside. I put a lantern inside the cab to provide a little illumination at night.
