Large Scale Central

Early start tomorrow - Sir Nigel Gresley coming for breakfast!

Up at 5am in the morning and a twenty mile drive over to March in Cambridgeshire. We are helping to celebrate the station’s 125th anniversary by setting up part of our 7/25" gauge portable track on the platform for the delight and delectation of the early morning travellers and commuters. Later on in the morning the mainline will host the classic LNER A4 streamliner, ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ and special railfanning train!

In case anybody has never heard of this loco - here’s a couple of clips -

I hope to get a ton of pix and a movie for Youtube, since the train will be stopping in the station for a short while…

Terry,
Looking forward to it
Ralph

I will be there in spirit anxiously awaiting Sir Nigel’s arrival.

Please don’t forget photos of the portable layout as well.

Will take many pics of everything that stands still for long enough, but it won’t be too exciting…

I bleeve that we will have a couple of small diesels running there tomorrow - not my 1/3rd scale ‘Harlech Castle’ though, that’s still awaiting it’s new windows to come back from the laser cutter guy.

I’ll be sure to give ‘Sir Nigel’ your best!

Take care and mind the light… [tee hee]

I will be there in spirit too, as I will be out exploring the remnants of the Little Old & Slow RR ROW out in Peach Bottom, PA. with a group of friends…

[Mind the smuts in your eyes!]

The train was forty-five minutes late, but on the other paw, if it had been on time it would have been dark - this was taken at 0845hrs this morning, BTW.

Best to all

Nifty!

Wow! Very cool train!

Ken,

Does the LO&S #10 run to a schedule? Is it regularly used? That looks like one to get a ride on. Is it at Strasburg, now?

Rick, It’s in Strasburg. Hollywood and I had a chance to ride the last trip of the day during the Spring ECLST. We decided to take pictures instead. I believe they run it early and late in the season, when they’re not expecting too many riders. Ralph

It’s never run when I’ve been there, but I mainly go to see the museum. Like Ralph says, it’s probably used more when there’s less tourists, like early spring and late fall. No 10 is always at Strasburg…it’s usually parked in front of the engine house, as I see every time we go by there when we go to the AMT…

Man, that has gone on my short list. I’ve been to the museum 2 or 3 times and don’t have mush reason to go back. Okay, now I’ve got to pay more attention.

Moved to it’s own topic to make it easy to find and get it away from Terry’s post. Sorry for hijacking, Terry. You posted a great video, thanks for sharing.
