Just to bring the pics forward. The work speaks for itself(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Once again pics speak louder than word and besides MOST including me can read them!

As always… fantastic work Norman !

You have a real talent Norman . Beautiful work !

One thing for sure is that there are some extremely good modelling folk here on this Forum. Often it is a superb structure, but this set of beautiful cars are certainly exceptional. A fine achievement.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys!

Some pictures of the progress on my Prospector

The cab unit’s trucks got shortened, powered Aristo FA-trucks to fit into USA-streaminer trucks - difference is about 5/32", so not too much modifications were necessary. Trucks of the observation unit only lost the brake cylinders abd the stabilization struts.

Both sets are just too cool. Great job!

Outstanding! Is it safe to assume that we’ll see a UP M-10000 down the road sometime?

Thanks for the nice comments…

@Vic:

Probably I will not do a M-10000 - its sloped sides make my usual process of revamping a basket case difficult

Instead I decided to build a rather unpopular, special and shortlived diesel: Baldwin’s RP-210 for NYC’s Xplorer

NYC RP-210

I used the shell of a USA-Trains PA and trucks of a SD40-2

The PA-shell was lowered by 3/16", shortened by 2" and got a completely new nose design. The pilot was made from an Aristo FA-pilot.

The rear truck lost its rotating third axle while the front truck lost its center axle with the rotating third axle fixed to the rest of the motor-block

A quick mock-up the the current status

Norman

Knew of it but had to look up what exactly it was.
I can’t tell whether dark hue in this image is green or grey,

Can’t wait to see more. You should really make two of them- how much is shipping to the USA? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

-Kevin.

Kein, thanks for your comment…no chance for a second one

Finally finished a baseline structure for Prospector’s pilot - a rather unique design with a kind of a flanger in front of the wheels.

Norman

Some more pics before New Year’s Eve…

RP210’s shell:

Denver Zephyr’s first car ‘Silver Courier’ has made some progress (not strictly motive power but head end power):

‘Prospector’ and CBQ’s EA/EB are going into the decaling shop, soon - I’ll add some pics when the weather allows me to do some set-up outdoors w/o risk of rain.

-Kevin.

How will you compensate for half of Priceless?

Making the second is not only time and materials, add the devaluation from Unique Excellence, to One of Two, for the first.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

That squashed my; Me three.

Love it!

A haappy New Year to all of you!

@ Rooster: thanks for giving kudos

My Budds were painted so some new pictures before decaling

I’m not much of a diesel fan, but those are pretty darn nice!!

They are all wonderful models.

I really like the DRGW prospector, glad someone saw the beauty in her and modeled her!!

Keep up the good work!

@Dave & Ken: thanks for the nice comments
