Drilling small holes in concrete?

Can anyone here recommend a tool for drilling very small holes in concrete? Preferably about 1/16" diameter or less, but up to 1/8" would work. The holes don’t need to be very deep, only 1/4" to 3/8".

I’ve used a 3/32" diamond coated carving point on a Dremel. It’s not intended for drilling though, and it only works for one or two holes before wearing out.

Ray,

A solid carbide drill will work, but that is usually not a cheap item. Check with your local industrial supply place.

You should be able to purchase concrete bits down to the 1/8 size. I think I have one that small…but not smaller.

Are you putting railings on that concrete bridge or track? I drilled larger holes, filled with white caulk, let it dry, then ran a screw in. worked well with expansion on the sidewalk.

Ray,

I would drill a 1/4" or 3/16" hole and drive a Cedar, Cypress, or Redwood plug in it. Now you can put anything you want in easy.

Ray, go to home despot, and get the 1/8" bit made for rotozip tool. You can plunge drill with it. Cleanest hole in concrete I have made so far…
