The research is over – time to build the Undertaker Furniture Store for Silver Onyx.

And where does this come from? Bodie, Calif., is a great place to visit.

Gold was discovered in 1859, ten years after the discovery of gold at Sutter’s Creek.

By 1869 the population of Bodie was 10,000. I read once that the death rate was at least 1 person a day. Enough to keep undertakers busy!

Today it’s part of the state park system with few full-time residents. A very cold place in the winter that is inaccessible!

A great place to find ideas.

From the diary of an 11 year old girl who’s family moved to Bodie during the boom and bespeaks the fearsome reputation the town had to the outside world.

That’s the place.

I saw a picture of someone’s Bodie wood pole the other day. I think they burn about 5 cords a winter!

Can I correct the spelling of Undertaker in the title?

I want Undertaker spelled right! I’m starting over!

Oh I thought that was intentional. I prefer Indertaker. Has that old timey wimey sound to it.
