Doug's 2014 Build Challenge -- 2014 -- Undertaker

Now that the sun is setting I’ll add up my expenditures.

The windows I already had.

All the wood in the building is redwood I’ve had for nearly 50 years that I cut on the table saw. The boards and battens for the siding were individually cut. A lot of work but I like the look.

The metal for the roof was “diet Dr. Pepper” cans.

I had the coffins.

I did spend $5.99 for white spray paint and a can of galvanized spray for the roof. $3 for half a can.

And a lot of pin nails, Titebond III and E6000.

I would guess I spent $10 for the building but I won’t include the labor!

What’s the next project?

I like it!

Nice!

Looks like they have a new customer already, taking a dirt nap right there in front of the shop.

The style of the doors and windows really fit the theme of the building.

Nice, that’s a building I could use…

Nice job, Doug, if indeed spooky!

Thanks Lou. It is really fun!

The old prospector will be the undertaker’s first customer if the prospector can make arrangements. It seems that his old burro Maude has died. He would like to make special arrangements for Maude.

Great work Doug, I admire your perseverance.

Pretty spooky kewl. I like it. Very nicely done.

Doc Tom

I love the dual use business.

Coffee Table one day, Coffin the next!!

Keeps them from getting bored!

I never knew the two business operated together until I saw a sign that said that from a late 1800s business.

The building has a floor so I have to build some furniture to go in it.
