Hello all,
I am considering purchasing the USA TTX 5 car Intermodal. In my neck of the woods (Chicago) I see them filled with red “K” Line containers all the time. But USA doesn’t make “K” Line containers for whatever reason. A few years ago I saw somebody selling custom made “K” Line containers for these cars but I don’t know where to find them now. Can anybody help? I’m not the sort of person who would make my own.
Thanks,
Peter
You could always paint them and get Stan Cedarleaf to make you K-line decals.

I could always paint them myself, but I’d rather buy them already made and save myself the trouble. I remember seeing them for sale somewhere and now I can’t remember.
Well after an extremely thorough search of the net I have found out the following: The contianers I’m looking for were custom made by USA Trains for “The Container Dude” in 2003. Unfortunately I guess that means they are long gone. If anyone knows how to contact “The Container Dude” of Ft Worth, TX I would be much obliged.
Peter, you might as well start buying paint and containers… doens’t look all that hopefull
You might build them out of 060 styrene and some T and angle. I would think they’d be a pretty easy project.

Peter, have you tried getting in touch with Charles Ro? I have found them helpful on the two occasions I’ve needed to get in touch, and I’m on the other side of the planet.
I own both a 5-car TTX articulated set and three individual USA stack cars. There are a couple of gotchas with the articulated set. Get in touch if you want to discuss further.
Dave,
I sent inquiries to both USAT and Charles Ro, but since it was a Friday after close I don’t think I’ll hear anything until Monday but my fingers are crossed.
Peter - Use the phone. They’re not to good at responding to email, but very helpful if you call.
