Don't know if they'll get done for 2011 challenge

how? with 1" x 10" really coarse lag bolts in a counterbored hole. They have a built in washer about 2" in dia and a square head… just like the ones used for cribbing only shorter… HO track nails are easier :stuck_out_tongue:

Spent some money on it. With gravel places buried under snow and ice decided to not co that route; and who knew what magnetic particles might be in it anyway. Bought a bag of white fish tank gravel for just shy of three bucks.
It is also going to get used for ballasting track on a 1x12x8ft trolley shelf so the whole cost doesn’t count toward this project as it will only be a couple tablespoons worth used.

Progress in progress: gluing HO ballast for gravel road and fish tank gravel for track ballast.

A little more progress. Don’t know if signs and bolts will get done by Friday.

I’m not sure how to figure the cost of this thing since it’s all fractions of stuff bought for other projects or general purpose supplies.

What price is:
3 teaspoons of HO ballast?
2 tablespoons fish tank gravel?
A couple tablespoons worth of Woodland Scenics ground foam?
A couple tablespoons worth of Woodland Scenics scenery cement?
5 putty knife loads of wood filler?
4x 8mm strips off a 6in wide balsa plank?
2x 9in by 10in pieces from a 32x41 mat board?
3 teaspoons out of a 16 oz Aleen’s tacky glue bottle?
A couple squirts each of 4 different craft acrylics?
The water to clean up the paint brushes and rinse the glue off my hands?
Do you count the cost of the train set the track came in?
Or was it from the second hand track?

And the yet to be installed balsa/basswood signs and the Atlas track nails representing hold-down bolts?

Nice like the run over mouse.

…grinning…

Hehe, thanks guys. Probably as far as she’s gonna go today. Have to do signs and bolts later.
