Donkey build

Fantastic work!! Inspires me to get back to making some

synonyms for AWESOME:

Jim;

You really have to be careful when spending a large amount of time with a thesaurus. Thesauri can be unpredictable and very vicious. Anyone who has read Bored of the Rings, the Harvard Lampoon parody of The Lord of the Rings will know that. Since Bored of the Rings is now out of print, the danger of thesauri is no longer common knowledge.

Just be careful around them, David Meashey

Heya Jim, thanks! I hope though that the model isn’t too alarming, dreadful, fearsome, frightening, horrible, terrible or terrifying, daunting or fearful, but I get the sense you like it, hahaha!

Thanks for all the thanks guys!

I thought they died off with the Pterodactylus?

From a Reddit thread (where somebody was quoting from Bored of the Rings):

The company stood rooted to the ground in terror. The creature was about fifty feet tall, with wide lapels, long dangling participles, and a pronounced gazetteer.
“Aiyee!” shouted Legolam. “A Thesaurus!”
“Maim!” roared the monster. “Mutilate, mangle, crush. See HARM.”

Sorry Roos, but the lexicographers brought them back to life. We have Noah Webster and his cronies to blame for thesauri still kicking around. Thesauri are really nasty beasts. They lunge at you screaming “MAIM! MUTILATE! MANGLE! MAUL!” Then right before they sink their razor sharp teeth into you, they mutter “See also physical harm.”

Not nice at all, David Meashey

Rumor has it, if you lift the tail up, you will find Roosters autograph. Is that true?

When I grow up I want to be Cliff.

excellent highly detailed work as usual.

Devon, I very belatedly saw your kind post, thanks very much!

And for sure, you’re kicking it out of the park these days, far beyond my asspirations!

Great job on all your donkey and other modeling, and I hope you continue to have a blast!

Cliff

Lets see a pic of it all painted and weathered!

This thread got an update so I noticed the first post, and recalled the donkey at the marina in Brunswick where my boat spent the winter.

And it comes from the right place:

There is another identical cylinder on the other side, but I couldn’t get a good photo due to the brush.

Nice find Pete, yeah, might be the same model even. Thanks!

You bet John, coming right up! Well, right after the trestle project…

Some pics of my finished one taken at Kens last year. The SOB never did “sign my ass” he told me: I ain’t signing your ass you …can’t write what he said.

HaaaaHAHAHAaa!!

Yeah, but to quote John,

Lets see a pic of it all painted and weathered!

Nice one David!

PS I remember you shoving it at him and his refusal. Good memories, good friends.
