Do you CLICK TO ENLARGE?

As far back as I can remember, most photos I post have a link to an enlargement and are tagged Click to Enlarge. For example…

FF: Click to Enlarge - IE: Right Click Photo and select Open Link in New Window to Enlarge It’s quite a bit of work to create and upload a second set of photos for the enlargements, and it also requires quite a bit more text in each post to support the clickable photo. Here’s how it’s done, with a bold and colored caption, if you are interested…
FF: Click to Enlarge - IE: Right Click Photo and select Open Link in New Window to Enlarge
So, do you ever click on the enlargements? Is it worth my extra effort??

Jon,
I never click to enlarge. Your pics are great as they appear.
Others may need to.

Same as Tony…

Sorry Jon but yes I do when I want to see the clear details. But in your behalf I can request a copy of those that I want to see full size,as the pics are very well done to begin with

I tried it for the first time just now.
I don’t think it’s worth the extra effort.
The originals are good. Just my opine.

I always post in 800 x 600, seems good enough 99% of the time… many people still run low resolution on their screens, so higher resolution often brings negative comments.

My web site is all 800 x 600, with a proviso on the first page you need 1280 x 1024 to view my site, so you can still see the menu on the left as well as the 800 x 600 picture.

I still get comments that people cannot see the right margin, and find out they are running 1024 x 768 or worse, even on a big monitor.

So, the extra effort is probably not worth it.

Greg

Sorry Jon, though I appreciate your extra effort and energy, I have never clicked to enlarge a photo.

Jon,
I also rarely enlarge the photo.
The exception would probably be when you post prototype photos, such as your fine EBT photos.
Ralph

Thank you all for the feedback. On future posts I’ll reserve the extra effort for items that may require fine detail, otherwise I’ll just stick with the 800x format and save some web space. This whole idea was born at the other place where pictures are limited to 640x, which to me is just not big enough to see any detail. With Bob’s support of larger formats, there doesn’t seem to be a need.
