Large Scale Central

DIY Barrel planter Microlayout

I really need a battery powered engine for this, as running a power cord across the yard is less than ideal.

Or wind up one.

Not if its a fast as my Marx windups, go flying across the driveway (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Best part of this is that so far I haven’t spent a dime on this, everything used was either recycled or just laying around (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Mick would be proud.

You can’t beat those kinds of constructions!

Mik, just Mik, not Mick… just keeping his memory…

See what happens when you have brain surgery. You miss everything. I had no idea you were building this.

I was able to cram one of these Viper ESC into the lil hauler tank loco with i believe either 9v or 12v volts of lithium Ion batteries. Can’t remember how many cells I got in there. Runs fast enough and there is room for it. The ESC fits up in the steam dome and the batteries are in the tank. No need for a tender.

Why not use a small batter thats 4-5 volts and then do a simple on off switch or try the loco genie for O scale. I did that on my Davenport and it works great.

Updates to the buildings, added roofing, and window and door trim to help give them some scale…and yes, those really are just big chunks of 4x4s.

I build outdoors, I build to last. …and yes this is the level of craftsmanship you can expect for this years Challenge (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Looking great so far. I only got the tracks secured on mine. Will have to wait till spring now but I did manage to spruce it up.

Latest additions to the Barrel of Fum, the 2018 Mik’s Building Challenge Hole in the Head mine is added, along with a couple little extras and some succulents as color.

this last pic is my favorite, it’s nothing elaborate but I can’t help but smile a wide grin whenever I look at this photo.

You did it again, Vic. People may or may not like micros, but no one can deny that you got style!
