Dissassembly of the USA Streamliners

Does anyone know how the USA long aluminum passenger cars come apart.
Underneath at each end are three screws that loosen the end at the bottom, but I can’t get the top end to loosen. I really don’t want to break anything.

Have no clue on the USA cars but guessing like the Aristo and cannot imagine any fasteners on the top but never had one in my hands? Have you tried prying outward from the bottom? The Aristo’s can be tight at the top?
Nice too see you playing with streamliners though. (rubbing hands together)

Hey John,

I didn’t realize that the USA passenger cars where “Narrow Gauge”, whats going on, are you switching again?

Marty Cozad on USA passenger car disassembly: I don’t have an article, but I have taken all but my obs apart and its very hard so i stopped with the obs. Simple way is to have a foam pad in a U shaped holder and lay the car up side down. Remove all screws that look like they are holding the ends on. The next step is to remove the end. It’s HOT glued on so take your time and wiggle back and forth, up and down till it comes of. Took me about 10 mins. Then once the end is off you’ll see what needs down. The trucks will have to come loose if you remove the bottom. Some are hard, some come right out. Watch out for wires. Place all screws so you remember where they go. I have 3 cuts on my hands while doing this.
Marty said he took his apart to add people. Any further questions, best ask Marty.

Remember, keep it fun.

Chuck,
I’m trying to pack a Combine car full of batteries for Hughes.
The set of PA’s have been converted.

You’d think USA would publish the info on their website. After all they sell people to put in them.
I’ll talk to Marty, and if necessary, to Charlie Ro.

john here is a link to greg’s website, and also there is another thread linked over on MLS over there on your post!! Regal
