I have been leaving my cheap die cast cars out for the summer for years. Many of the windshields have turned opaque/yellow, and ‘chrome’ has fallen off. This year I started spraying them with some UV clear coat my wife had for the sign business she once had. Can’t find the Krylon UV clear coat around here. Just wondered what experience any of you have had with them and if any have used a UV clear coat. I shot some signs I did on ink jet vinyl with it and they seem to be holding up better, not fading like last year’s did.
Jerry, I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. I use this on everything that is going to be exposed to IV rays, buildings, cars, locomotives, figures, and so on. Just spray it on, wipe it off. You should be able to find it at any marina (ask Ric) or the NAPA store, or a 4WD store, just about anywhere. I stumbled on it through canoeing. It requires a once a year application.

Thank you Richard. Boy, some people and the qiestuons they ask!
Steve,
I have just recently become aware of 303 Aerospace Protectant, it certainly has a great number of followers and supporters. I have used the waterproofing product by the same company with good results and feel protectant should provide the same results.
